St Matthew's Anglican Church Staff
Senior Minister Rev Philip Knight
Philip is married to Elke and they have two daughters.
He grew up in a Christian home and at a young age committed his life to following Jesus as Lord and Saviour. After finishing school he worked at a country pub and it was during that time that the realisation of two ways to live really hit home. The experience he had sharing his faith at work really helped him to grow up spiritually.
Philip travelled overseas and worked as a volunteer at Ashburnham Christ Trust in East Sussex, UK. It was during his time there that he met Elke. The following year he then went to work in Germany with refugees for a year before he and Elke married in Munich.
Returning to Australia he trained at Sydney Missionary & Bible College and Australian College of Ministries.
Prior to coming to Port Hedland in 2006 he worked in Sydney for 9 years at two different Anglican parishes.
Philip loves to share the gospel with people and being part of seeing them changed and transformed by God.
In his spare time he enjoys Elke's cooking, games with his two daughters, refereeing touch footy, watching NRL, hanging out with friends and going 4WD.
