Baptisms and thanksgivings are very significant occasions in the life of any person which is why at St Matthew's we take them very seriously. We suggest these two services for you to consider.
A Baptism Service is one in which the parents and godparents publicly declare that they are committed followers of Jesus Christ. They make certain promises which indicate that they believe Jesus is their Lord and Saviour, that they will live the way the Bible says and that they belong to the church as full, active members, regularly attending and participating in the life of the church.
A Thanksgiving Service is a simple service in which the parents want to acknowledge that God has blessed them with a child and that they need His wisdom to bring that child up. No declarations of faith in Jesus are made but firm acknowledgements of thankfulness to God are expressed.
Both of these services are held during the normal Sunday service.
In order to decide which service best reflects where you are at in the Christian faith we encourage you to attend our service on Sunday morning and talk to our minister Philip.
If you are interested in getting married at St Matthew's or getting prepared to get married somewhere else we would love to help you.
Marriage is one of the most important decisions you will ever make in your life and we would love to be part of giving you the tools you need in having a long-lasting, enriching and fulfilling marriage.
Come along to church to meet and speak with Philip or just contact him for a friendly chat.
